Tolerance.

If Stein weren't provincial he wouldn't have made a column about it. Because that column only sells to folks with the same provincial mindset.

I know how Stein feels, if you've lived in a big city, you feel you know it all. As a Californian one almost feels as if one is in the Capitol of the Universe - after all Hollywood makes movies in your town, people pay money to see those movies and play follow the leader with media influence leading the way.

Then one spends some time in the 'red' zone, where folks generally have less money and a different set of viewpoints. One sees how they have been brought up by family & church.

Perhaps why I am critical of California liberals is because I used to be one. Despite my classification here as a rightie - my political and economic beliefs are quite central.

The right needs more tolerance of the left and the left need more tolerance of the right. Twenty five years ago, I probablywould've laughed with Stein and shared his mild mockery of some transplanted 'redneck' come to California flag waving. Now I can see from the other side of the California fence just a bit. It's not that funny when it's your neighbors being made fun of. Then it sparks resentment and fuels divisiveness. Yeah, I see folks out here who don't understand Californians either. It goes both ways.

It would be great if all folks could walk a mile in the other person's shoes before they judge or condemn.

Just make sure everyone has a good disinfectant spray.
