The "Framing Force" is with you, but you are not a Jedi yet...
That's another good illustration of the core differences between progressives and conservatives. You think it's bad to not "stay the course", and cling to ideas and policies that have proven ineffective or false. But as a Progressive I see the value in continuing to think, refining ideas, discarding what doesn't work and keeping what does, and never giving up the struggle to get it right. The fact that Progressivism is a moving target shouldn't come as a surprise--progress and thus change is at the very heart of Progressivism.
Wow. Sounds really cool.
Translation: We have no clue what we're doing, have no fixed principles other than winning elections, and are going to keep throwing things at the wall in the form of vague, gassy "plans" until something sticks, even if we have to change our ideas 180 degrees from one day to the next ("for it before I was against it").
JFK would puke.
As for "clinging to ideas that have proven ineffective or false," I think the Left holds the record on that. Most of them still think socialist principles are a great idea.
