...your head doesn't explode trying to get it around the concept of an amendment outlawing flag-burning.
On Star Trek Classic, Captain Kirk used to routinely drive AIs catatonic with logic like this:
1) The flag is a symbol of America and its values.
2) Freedom of speech is arguably the most important of those values, because all else flows from an ability to speak your mind freely. There's a reason it's the First Amendment.
1+2 = Let's add an amendment to the Constitution restricting free speech by outlawing burning of the flag! Yay America! We numbah one!
