Another example why the world has such a low opinion on the US
Omar is a Sunni, his children were kidnapped by terrorists. He had to pay a ransom to have them freed.
Having enough of this, he decides to flee to the US with what's left of his family.
But he can't.
Why?
Because he is guilty of materially supporting the enemy, in the form of that ransom.
The other refugees who pay bribes to get through the western province have the same problem.
Omar would have to prove his good faith, but can anyone imagine the kidnappers issueing a written statement declaring that money was only used to free his children?
A law that hurts the victims more than it combats terrorism.
Shame on the US.
