Europe, in my lifetime, has loved Eisenhower, Kennedy, liked Johnson, Nixon, respected Ford, loved Carter (hey, he made trips to the US a lot cheaper), respected and liked Reagan (even Mitterrand did), Bush Sr and loved Clinton...
Bush Jr, I'm afraid said nasty things like "If you're not for us, you're against us" (I'm sure no other president said something similar) and he invaded a country unprovoked, which had nothing to do with 911 and was no threat (and here, only dangerous dictators have done the same).

No question the current president is far far less popular than any other.
