He's easy pickings for terrorists.
He could have stayed and fought for his & his children's freedom, for the rule of law, and set an example for his children. At the very least the terrorists would have spent resources oppressing or killing him and people like him, and risk exposure of their terrorist network in the process. And they certainly would not have won allies among their own people by killing children. But instead he's become a source of easy money for the terrorists. They would no doubt hit him up again and again because of the weakness he showed the first time.
Besides, how do we know that he is not a supporter of the terrorists? He could be looking for a job in America from which he can siphon money into their terrorist network.
