Glad To See You Are Feeling Better

But I stand by what I wrote. To expect to be a peacekeeper in a war zone without taking casualties is ridiculous. It's shows absolutely zero commitment to the peacekeeping task. The US has suffered many more orders of magnitude in losses for the sake of the world and I am greatly offended by the worlds refusal to keep that and other contributions of the US in persepective when judging the US's role as a world leader in the wake of sometimes obvious mistakes and in other cases contentious decisions like the war in Iraq. With 20/20 hindsight I believe the war was a mistake, but in a similar situation in the future I'd make the same choice, I'd just plan a whole lot more thoroughly and realistically than the Bush admin did. When a tyrant behaves as if he's hiding a wmd program it's not wise to assume it's a bluff.

Glad you at least didn't deny the French role in promoting genocide. That's at least one thing they are good at with the practice many of them got helping the Germans. Too bad the bravery and the attitudes of the French resistence did not come to dominate the French mindset. One of my reasons for supporting the war is I felt strongly the US owed the Shia for helping to arm Saddam earlier which inadvertently aided his genocidal attacks on them. There are no world powers without blood on their hands or stains on their reputations. We're all human, make mistakes, and frequently have hidden agendas. That doesn't excuse always thinking the worst though by ignoring good deeds and major sacrifices. Mistakes need to be acknowledged and redressed not swept under the rug like so much of Bush's war bungling and France's UN/Iraq bribery involvement.

Hope you are fully recovered,
Mark
