"Why didn't Hitler win?"

The hard fact is Hitler didn't win because we killed a hell of a lot more Germans than he killed Americans. We bombed the living crap out of Germany and German-held territory, while he never laid a finger on the U.S.

Germany lost almost two million civilians in WWII. The U.S. lost 68 civilians at Pearl Harbor, and a grand total of six on the U.S. mainland.

While I disagree with much of what SDF is saying, the horrible truth is that throughout most of history, the most ruthless and powerful combatant usually wins. You are welcome to do your own research on this.

If Japan had not brought the U.S. into the war against them, who do you think would have been victorious in China? If we had not entered the war in Europe, Hitler's Germany and Stalin's U.S.S.R.--neither models of wartime restraint--would have razed Europe between them, and the victor would have eaten Europe whole.

The atomic bomb worked because it threatened genocide.

I have often mentioned here that we are trading live civilians in Iraq for dead Americans. This is the price paid for remaining civilized, and I am not saying it isn't worth it.
