re: Certainly: genocide.

I'm sure if the Japanese had nuclear weapons they would have used them, for the purpose of killing as many of their enemy as possible. Fortunately for us, unfortunately for them, the US developed them first. Oh how we are proud of that achievement, aren't we. And the Japanese surrendered because they realized that annihilation was upon them. Hence, my "theory" as you call it, is well grounded in fact.

These days somebody has tried to invent the idea that there is such a thing as an immoral act, more serious than war itself. I don't buy it. Once the war starts, the objective is clear.

Another element of course is brought on by those nuclear weapons. There is the new strategy of brinksmanship, which is some kind of diplomacy involving the exchange of threats, the maneuvering of armed forces, and bargaining. I don't understand it. But nuclear weapons as a "deterrent" owing to its potential to exterminate the human race utterly, led to this behaviour by nuclear states. And that in turn has led to the idea that there are morals in war, like it's okay to kill troops but not civilians, and to use bullets but not WMD. It's questionable IMO.

Unfortunately states that do not possess nuclear weapons couldn't care less about the new rules of war. They will kill civilians and soldiers alike. They will use bullets and WMD and whatever else they can get their hands on. As long as they are alive they will fight.

And we've failed to kill them. We've only destroyed a few bridges, and knocked over a few buildings. See what I'm saying?
