Why would they want to leave paradise? Gotta be screwy.

The guy is skipping out on peace, freedom, democracy and prosperity? Wants to leave? And deprive his children of the opportunity to grow and thrive in the newest version of United States Conservatives and True Believers of Heaven on Earth? The guy should be shot.

I get very sick and tired of reading stories such as those quoted below. According to reliable information, democracy is thriving, the economy is booming (as well as about everything else) and the people are happy, happy, happy. Just ask Bush, Cheney or Rice. Or any of the DoD bloggers. Or polls. Those are great. The polls say it is all GOOD NEWS, and clearly the Brits and Kiwis have it in for the US or they wouldn't publish such slanderous trash.

"Iraqi medical crisis as doctors flee."

"In the college where I used to teach, five consultants were killed, assassinated.

"Before I left, I was doing a tour with my resident staff. I looked at the ward, I looked at the beds, and I said in a very loud voice: 'This hospital is not good even for pets. No medicines, no bed linens, the smell is very bad. Sewage is out on the floor.'"

"He said that at one point all the operating theatres in his hospital were shut down for three weeks because no oxygen cylinders were available.

"As for the billions of dollars spent on reconstruction, these doctors say they saw a little of it. But most was wasted on shoddy furniture and poor decorations.

"Some money has gone on high-tech machinery. But it is useless, say the doctors, because no one knows how to use it. They believe the equipment was only bought so that officials could siphon off part of the funds."

"All this in a country that used to pride itself on the best medical services in the Middle East."

"Iraq: A country in ruins, a people in despair."

Nope. You Europeans are very, very gullible. Naive. Insensitive to nuances, subtleties. The spread of freedom is never painless, look at the French Revolution. Talk about beheading people, they perfected it.

Arf (Bush is OURS, Bow. Oops. Sorry, Raoul. I guess the last was misdirected. It's US that are gullible, etc.)
