By the way, anyone blaming Bush for coming to the wrong conclusions will have to explain why the previous administration came to the same conclusions with the same input. Or why the British came to similar conclusions from their own intelligence. If the intelligence agencies of two nations have been screwing up for years, you might try to make an issue of that, but the leadership works with the information it has.
I'm no fan of Clinton, but if a former President, who had access to a hell of a lot of information we will never see, honestly thinks to this day that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction up until his fall, that is a piece of data that can't just be tossed out the window.
The wording could be a bit clearer. Does the quote mean he still thinks, even now, that Saddam had WMD up until the war, or does it mean he was convinced (like most others) that Saddam had such weapons up until the war, and has (like many others) changed his mind based on new data?
Still looking at the research paper, BTW.

- I'm sure the Germans likewise appreciate Americans scolding them about genocide, since we have an outstanding background with our Native nations.
