"Self-determination?" Are you serious??

Self-determination is a fundamental, self-evident, and sacred right.

And this statement is applicable how? Am I to assume that you consider life under the unmolested Saddam regime as an example of "self-determination," as opposed to what the Iraqis have an opportunity to achieve now?
