re:write There's a real difference . . .

Allow me to show you what your words really meant:

"We'd all like to live in a world where monarchy is a thing of the distant past, where citizens have legally protected rights, where religious persecution is unheard of and where all the leaders are elected by the people. Unfortunately, such a world has never existed on Earth. Given human nature, it's unlikely it ever will. In our less than ideal world, autocrats still rule, citizens are arrested for political reasons all too often, religious persecution is widespread, and many "leaders" answer to no one, and so are venal and corrupt. Rose colored glasses won't take away that reality.

Reading the history of what actually happened instead of what we wished would've happened is one way to face this harsh world of ours but only to a point. As the wag put it, 'Those who fail to learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat it. Those who do will find new ways to screw up.'"

Those who decide to remake their world instead of accepting it as it is often fail. And sometimes they establish the United States of America. I vote for changing the world by changing our own behavior, instead of trying to impose our ideas by superior force. Behavior is what it's all about. Without that, well, someone always invents a bigger gun.

"Ah, but a man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what's a heaven for?"
