If you starved a dog to death, you'd go to jail
Why is it ok to refuse to give food or water to a human being, no matter how impaired, when it would be illegal to do the same thing to an animal (or a prisoner).
Talk to some Holocaust survivors about what true starvation feels like. It isn't a pleasant experience. Even the brain damaged are likely to feel pain.
