Congress has no business injecting itself into the middle of a matter which has been reviewed and adjudicated by 19 separate federal and state judges.
Terri Schiavo is in a persistent vegetative state. She is incapable of conscious thought, has no memory and can feel nothing. She has no self-awareness. Her cerebral cortext is completely gone - I saw the brain scan today.
Republicans in Congress don't really care about Terri Schiavo. They only care about pandering for votes from the religious right. In fact, there's a Republican Party memo that actually documents this fact.
And Democrats in Congress are so whimped out they allowed a bill that is obviously unconstitutional to be approved. Truly pathetic.
In the next day or so, the federal judge reviewing the case will repeat what 19 other judges have already done..determined that Ms. Schiavo is in a persistent vegetative state and would not have wanted to have been kept alive. The sooner Ms. Schiavo is allowed to have her wishes fulfilled the better. Let her go in peace and dignity.

- Why will the husband accept no solution other than her death? Maybe because he promised her.
