I specifically said that we allow you to put dogs to sleep under such conditions- not starve and dehydrate them... Unfortunately, we dont allow doctors to afford the same kindness to human patients that have even made it previously known that that would be their preference.
I don't see any reason for you to be hostile to me on this issue- I feel sympathy for both sides of her family. I have, from the beginning, only argued that her wishes that she expressed should be followed. If she had expressed that she wanted to be kept alive no matter what was needed I would support that- (I wouldnt understand that decision, but it is not my business) People have the right to make that decision.
I have asked this question several times, and almost no one has answered it: "If she had a living will declaring that she wouldn't want to live in this state, would you honor it?" If the answer is 'Yes' then why do you find it so hard to accept that several people have said she made statements to that effect, and repeated court decisions have found this to be the case. If the answer to my question is "No", well, then we dont enough of a common ground to discuss this issue.
To be honest, I DO think you would support honoring her wishes- I just think many people have been caught up in the politics of the situation- and this situation is the last place politics belong.
