Actually Tom, there is more to the parents that what meets the eye.
After the wrongful death award was made the Schindlers demanded the husband share the proceeds with them so that they could buy a brand new big home where they could keep their daughter. Mr. Schiavo refused, instead opting to retain the award for treatment. Shortly afterwards relations between Mr. Schiavo and his in-laws deteriorated.
Its also true that before he established a relationship with another woman, he asked for the Schindler's blessing. They gave it to him knowing full well their daughter would never recover.
Finally, its a lie that Terri has never received treatment, During the first seven years of her illness, Mr. Schiavo attempted all kinds of treatment, taking her all over the country for help. Everywhere he went it was the same, the doctors said nothing could be done. It was only after the death of his mother did Mr. Schiavo finally realize that Terri wasn't coming back and sought to have her life support removed.
I should also note that Mr. Schiavo's experience with Terri inspired him to become a nurse.
There's a lot of very inaccurate things being stated about Mr. Schiavo by right wing media sources, conservative religious groups and some members of COngress who don't know any better.
As for picking judges, 19 judges have concluded that Terri is in a persistent vegetative state and will never recover...19. No judge has come to any other conclusion based upon the evidence.
