They seem to have no grasp of economic fundamentals or even rudimentary analysis skills. They believe in government mandated solutions and restrictions despite a decades-long history of failure. Gigantic failures like the "Great Society" and the "War on Poverty" have cost trillions of dollars and ruined millions of lives. They are the living embodiment of the Disney philosophy, "Wishing will make it so." In their limitless arrogance, they actually believe their ideas should take priority over such trivial concepts as freedom of choice.
