First, Canada sympathizes with a wounded US and pledges to help in this new war on terror; Canadian soldiers perform admirably in Afghanistan.
Then, Chretien hints that the US "had it coming."
Then, the Canadian military is on the verge of collapse and must withdraw from all its commitements.
Then, Chretien says Canada will stand by it's best and most valued ally should war with Iraq transpire.
Now: the President is a "moron" for suggesting that perhaps Canada could increase its defense spending...to help support a military that Canadians themselves say is near destitution.
Do they make lithium pills big enough for entire governments? Maybe Ottawa should take a time out, do some deep breathing, try to get some sort of grasp on reality.
I'm just making a suggestion...but then, I guess that makes me a moron.
