Re: Americans spend more on military than any country in the world
Americans spend more on military than any country in the world: Some $360 billion annually. That alone suggests that USA could reduce its military spending and bring it in line with everyone else. Stated in another way military spending is 3.6 percent of GDP, meaning it may be a direct contributor to the 2-3 percent shrinkage of the economy during this so-called recession. Another reason for Americans to reduce military spending.
Besides, a large portion of Canada's economy depends on American tourists, and those tourists tend to stay home during wartime. All this US military spending is bad for Canada's economy.
