Canadians are fond of saying their forces beat American troops in the War of 1812, but that of course is a complete fallacy.

American forces were at war with Britain, with Canada merely serving as part of the battleground. Canada has never "beaten" the United States in war.

And I think we can all be thankful that those old hostilities are long dead and buried.
