Kind of like Neo ducking the bullets. Quite impressive.
As with the earlier argument on alternatives for handling Iraq and Saddam other than war, I suspect the main reason for this is that you don't have an answer. Yet you seem to demand that Bush come up with one.
Simple question: What kind of evidence would have been sufficient in your opinion to warrant an invasion of Iraq? Just theoretical examples are fine. And how could it have been obtained while Iraq was under Saddam's control?
A fission weapon blowing up Tel Aviv or New York with Saddam jumping up and down on a satellite link saying "I did it! I did it!" is an acceptable answer on the far end of the bell curve. It may not be reasonable, but it's an answer. Obviously your bar is a lot higher than Bush's, but it is not accurate for you to say that Bush and his administration had no bar at all.
I showed you mine...my bar is about in the same place as Colin Powell's. If the evidence was enough for him, it was enough for me, and his presentation clinched it enough for me. Later data from other sources was icing on the cake.
P.S. although you make a big deal about not finding anything yet with 140,000 troops on the ground, there are only about 1,400 of them in the Iraq Survey Group assigned to the task of searching for such things, or about 120 square miles of Iraq per person. I don't know how many people were in the earlier 75th Exploitation Task Force, which was largely examining targeted sites.
