World War 2 was just about 15 -17 years prior to this...then the Korean War...Viet Nam was becoming...Cuban Missile crisis....JFK murdered....I wonder what our parents thought..anyone got a parent they can ask??

My initial thought is that as lame as the Duck (sorry ...for the pun) and Cover might seem...I would think that they felt some sort of relief that at least something was being done to protect the children.
