Seeing as that was a pretty meaty explanation?
I agree with you on many of your points, and perhaps some of us are getting sour on the sameness of it all. Same lunch over and over. But we ARE getting new posters and the really mouthy old ones are being kept in check. You can't put a price on knowing what a poster is going to say. I can still eagerly open posts by many regulars here and am rewarded by some of their stark observations. And after all these years, I'm getting closer to what....say Alcaray is like! And sometimes we have love fests over on Flame. It's a lot cooler in here now than it was a few years ago.
If we're bored and depressed , it's just because our culture has sunk into this divided morass with a very dubious future. I look at my own life and wonder sometimes if hot water will still be coming out of my faucet in a decade or so, whether I can still get a good steak and will Charmin still be available for my soft little arss?
Maybe the pall is universal as in TMI. What the media harps about, warns us about, the cause of celebrity, etc....plus our own personal problems, has maxed out our neurons in an ability to cope, fit in, and find peace in our lifestyles.
Nah, the boards here are a RESPITE from all that.
Let's continue to fight, let's continue to laugh, and let's celebrate our "community".
