The more I think about it, the more I realize that ringing in Al Gore at the convention would be an act of political suicide by the Democrats.
Such an action would take everything Democrats have ever said about enshrining the average voter and "every vote counting," and not only setting it on fire, but peeing on the ashes. They're already having some problems on this front with the "superdelegates," which were created specifically to prevent the peons from having too much say in candidate selection.
The irony of having Gore "selected" in the face of thousands of votes for other candidates would be pretty good, though. The sight of Hillary's head exploding would almost be worth it, too. You could probably see the explosion from the Moon.
Al Gore would get about fifty black votes in the general election. Oh, the pony-tailed white liberal crowd would dance to the polls throwing confetti, but the hard truth is there just aren't enough of them.

- No we are not talking parts per million. And anyway, how would you know SteveS' objection till he has voiced it.
- CO2 levels are around 380 ppm (parts per MILLION)
