Do you have any science showing how increased temperature leads to increased CO2? You do realize that the Denialist camp claimed not 5 years ago that increased temperature will lead to increased CO2 uptake by encouraging global vegetation. Do you have any science attributing the nascent warming trend to anything else?
We've gone over this. I'm not claiming that temperature is totally separate from CO2 levels, or CH3, or water vapor for that matter. I have never claimed there is no such thing as a "greenhouse effect."
But there are known mechanisms whereby these gases are increased by increasing temperature (melting permafrost, methane ice, etc.). In prehistoric times, I'm having a hard time coming up with any mechanism that would suddenly cause these elements to increase by themselves, dragging temperature with them, particularly in such obvious cycles, and in cycles with such abrupt turning points.
The past hundred years or so are pretty much the only case where you can point to a purely "external" source of CO2 and make it stick at all.
As for the warming trend, natural forcings can account for everything up to about the last thirty to fifty years or so, a point I've made and documented more than once, and is even admitted by the IPCC.

- We're talking parts per million
- "THe effects on temperature are negligible at best. "- That is nonsense, the science says otherwise...
- No we are not talking parts per million. And anyway, how would you know SteveS' objection till he has voiced it.
- CO2 levels are around 380 ppm (parts per MILLION)
- More used to seeing it as a percent. (n/t)
