My point was that the science overwhelmingly shows that anthropogenic global warming is a fact. The whole consensus issue is a result of dishonest people on here and elsewhere claiming that there is a serious divide in scientific opinion on this issue, there isnt. This is not the result of some conspiracy, its a result of the data becoming harder and harder to argue with. I am simply trying to get the point across that this is NOT a political issue, it is a scientific issue... anthropogenic global warming is a fact, if you want to argue politics, then start with the facts and argue what, if anything, we should do about it.
I have no hard opinions about what we should do about it, and for loons here to paint my position as being anti-technology is dishonest in the extreme. I want us to find a way to deal with this issue that ideally does not reduce our standard of living in any way, or even better results in an improvement.
The reason I am so adamant that we accept the science is that if action is required, then the longer we wait, the more it WILL impact our standard of living. It really is that simple.

- We're talking parts per million
- "THe effects on temperature are negligible at best. "- That is nonsense, the science says otherwise...
- No we are not talking parts per million. And anyway, how would you know SteveS' objection till he has voiced it.
- CO2 levels are around 380 ppm (parts per MILLION)
- More used to seeing it as a percent. (n/t)
