I wanted to answer the other part of your sentence too: "If most of the proponents of this hypothesis were to suggest some real world solutions to their proposed global warming problem, instead of fanciful deadends, I might play along. As it stands now, they're not even serious about it."

What makes you think that climatologists aren't serious?
