"So their offices of public affairs in the science agencies are headed, in general, by political appointees, and they review the press releases before they go out. So, it doesn’t really make sense in a democracy."
Make sense to me. Perhaps Hansen has NO clue what his job is. He is an administer.
More clues? He is a govt official.
He may be a scientist [doubtful actually] but his job is as an manager.
It's like a school administrator imagining that they are teachers [they may have teaching training, they may even teach some classes occasionally, but they being employed as an administer].
This is a problem with hiring scientist to administration positions- it helpful they have a clue of what the scientists do- but there are downsides- being a poor administrator being the main thing.
The govt isn't Hansen personal playground. He is a waste of our tax dollar and should been fired years ago.

- No we are not talking parts per million. And anyway, how would you know SteveS' objection till he has voiced it.
- CO2 levels are around 380 ppm (parts per MILLION)
- More used to seeing it as a percent. (n/t)
