In some eyes - - -

a human being is more than an automaton.

Whatever God there may be created all humans with certain unalienable rights. Some of us think that sharing whatever medical care is available is one of those.

There is a belief among some people, including early Christians, that a family, village or tribe will take care of its own. It does not leave people behind, does not allow them to starve, doesn't even WANT to leave 'em behind.

To the conservatives on this board that is plain foolishness - when one is too old, sick, crippled mentally or physically to contribute they should starve. No money, no abilities, no bread. Period.

If God loved 'em, they'd being doing well.

And that's the belief. Read your posts.

Everything is ego, win-lose, right-wrong, good-bad.

That's a trait that people usually grow out of.

There's a maturity which regards life as a situation, looks at what they have, not at what they don't have, looks at how comfortable and effective they are, not at what their neighbors are doing.

Maturity is appreciating what one has, not at what they don't. In fact, one has a limited consciousness, and if they are focussing one what they don't have, they CANNOT appreciate what they do.

Maturity is recognizing there is a village, and that one is connected to that village. If ONE person is allowed to die for lack of shared resources, the entire village is shamed.

Etc.
