Praise the Lord!

I've seen the Light!
(Now where did I put my sunglasses?)

>Was not aware that none of these people could get health insurance.

Of course they COULD GET health insurance, but how many could AFFORD it??
You see, that's where you have the blinders on, Tom.

>And exactly how many single mothers of quadroplegics need coverage? And of course, by your account, all old people or minorities are destitute. Again, mythology and anecdotes.

You think WE'RE gasbrains and thick-headed??
If anyone doesn't "get it", it's you!

>I had to pay for my own health insurance for a couple of years ....I had to give up a lot of other things.

$75-$100 for one person....$200-$325 for a family of four. Tom, there are plenty of people who can't scrape together this money every month just to be insured.
If they did, there's be no food on the table.
Insurance or food?
Food or insurance?

> I didn't go to my next-door neighbor with a gun and demand he pay for it.

What the fruk are you talking about, man??
I can't agree with your repetition here about that.
No-one's robbing you.
Oh, I get it. You think you are being ROBBED.
No wonder you're so freekin crazy.

>Just out of curiosity, how much do YOU pay in taxes each year? None of my business of course, but I have shown mine on this board often enough (about $25,000 in income taxes in 2001) and it wouldn't suck if some of the enthusiastic income redistributors on this board told us what they've thrown into the kitty.

SHOW AND TELL
You show me yours, I'll show you mine.

Nunya.
Nunya business.
I can see where you want to use the tax bracket to make your point, but it isn't going to work with me.
That's a form of intellectual elitism.
Based on $$$.

I was a single hardworking mother for many years with two jobs and EIC.
And I didn't have health insurance.
Frankly my dear, you have an opinion that one finds little sympathy for.

Not everyone here has an easy life, but they don't go frothing at the mouth at what they pay in TAXES every year.
