I still remember getting hooted down by an entire classroom for suggesting that the phone company might work better if it was privatized.

Uh, hey, Tom, perhaps you were hooted down because AT&T is a private company that at the time you were in college operated as a regulated monopoly?

I hate to tell you this, big guy, but sometimes you're not hooted down for ideological reasons.
