Sitting in front of it crying.

That was actually a cool scene. The implication that all things taken for granted rely on a steady stream of suppliers and supporting industries is brought to full force. The horse drawn buggy that pulls up to take the other passengers away and Dagny's loyal man remaining behind with the industrial age perhaps sums up the average man's choice - retrogression or progress.

Global warming and environmentalism is the manifestation of the current retrogression movement - a movement which clearly decries man, and man's elevating himself above the animal via industries and turns these accomplishments into evils which must be done away with.

They are the sheep walking towards the hayseed driving the horse and buggy.

His remaining behind and crying illustrated he understood what has been lost the others don't grasp it and are only looking out for themselves.

Rands foreshadowing and accurately depicting the current events of today are eerily astounding.
