re: out of hand

So Tom, in essence you're saying:

There are bad, bad Muslims living in our world that will even go after poor defenseless Denmark because they don't like their cartoons. That of course proves that our policy of preemptively bombing the hell out of the countries these cretins originate in will make them stop.

No, I said nothing of the sort. I don't know where you got "bombing" from.

I was pointing out that the policy of giving in to the aggressors on every level is not a workable one. The implication in the article that the persons who printed the cartoons are the ones in the wrong is a depressing symptom of this.

It doesn't require bombs to defend one's own values and culture, it just requires standing up for your own ideas. Denmark's cultural heritage of individualism, freedom, and tolerance is infinitely superior to, say, Iran's, and they should feel no shame or fear in saying so, and standing up for it.

Note carefully that my original post was referring to the person who wrote the article, not Danes in general. During this controversy and others like it, many of the Danes have indeed strongly defended the ideas of freedom of speech and their own values.

The rest of your post is just noise. I'm glad posting on Kos has "empowered" you, but keep in mind that even if you're starting to feel like the biggest rooster around, it's only in comparison to the other barnyard fowl over there.
