All I'm saying is back off a little. Not stop talking, but quit having politics dominate your (and hence, our) discourse. Defend yourself, make your points, bring up contradictions and absurdities in the other side, in short, everything you're doing now but not as much or as often...or as condescendingly.

If your idea of this board is a nest of vipers that need to be instructed and punished, not only does it reveal a total contempt for us as people, but it shows us you feel the Zone serves primarily as a personal forum for you to propagate your ideas. That's pretty arrogant, is it any wonder your opponents (who as far as I can tell, are as a rule basically friendly, non-combative and diverse minds with many interests) react the way they do? Not only that, your example attracts and encourages some pretty unsavory types whose petty pathologies greatly exceed your own, but without any of your wit.

I hang out at several other boards (mostly related to my writing and boating activities) but I find it quite easy to discipline myself and not bring up my pet political peeves (scientific anomalism and pseudoscience, fundamentalist religion, New Age mysticism and politicians to the right of Hubert Humphrey and Adlai Stevenson). Well, not ALL the time, anyway. I'm a pretty perceptive guy, and I figure most people just don't want to hear that shit all the time, even if they happen to agree with it some of the time.

I think I've made my point. I can't tell you what to say, but I can tell you when I feel your behavior is interfering with my legitimate use of this social, and collectively shared facility.
