Molecular biology established the basic mechanism of evolution. Before that, the evidence that it had happened was overwhelming with a good probabilistic explanation of how changes spread but not one for how they occurred. That wasn't really needed however as breading of domestic animals was sufficient to demonstrate that they did occur.
We know the basic mechanism of global warming. Visible and infrared energy is trapped by greenhouse gases and released as infrared energy at higher temperature. Any body with a sealed container of CO2 and a sperate one of air can verify this. It's far easier to do than finding fossilized missing links. The denialists avoid admitting this basic mechanism therefore their arguements are clearly not scientific. It's that simple.
Pointing out other potential causes of global warming does not eliminate CO2 based warming as a concern no matter how many you come up with.
I am sick and tired of people looking at only the cost of doing something and not the cots of doing nothing. Rational people weigh pros and cons not only one or the other.

Mark
