"Photosynthesis uses CO2, but if it is measurably increasing it's obvious photosynthesis is not absorbing it all.
The constraint is CO2 is going up - explain why it wouldn't warm the atmosphere.
Your answer does nothing of the sort. It simply tries to shift the blame. Look up how much CO2 mankind has burned since the industrial revolution and how much atmospheric CO2 has gone up during the same period. Then do the math to compare pounds burned to pounds added to the atmosphere. The numbers match closely. This is why I think people who doubt GW are simply waving their hands in the air with half baked counter arguments. It makes no sense to claim something else caused the CO2 increase. CO2 is CO2. No matter where it comes from Plants will use it. "
Cold ocean absorbs CO2 and warm oceans release CO2.
I know you know this.
We know that since the time of Ice age some +10,000 years ago the ocean has not warmed up much- as it's within a few degrees of freezing- and no one thinks the ocean was frozen within last few million or billion of years.
But in the last 10,000 years the ocean could warmed up a bit, and the surface temperature of the ocean could warmed up considerably.
In the Ice age when global temperatures were more than 10 C colder than the present and was so for thousands of years, so the Ocean should warmed in the 10,000 years since that time- for the whole ocean perhaps 1 degree, and for the surface ocean perhaps tens of degree.
So, we know the ocean holds a lot of CO2, we know if the Oceans are warmed it will release some of that CO2 [btw, far more CO2 than human have ever created] so where did it go?
And say in the last thousand years, has the Ocean continued to warm and release CO2?
So the release or capture of CO2 by the ocean is simply related to it's temperature. But there is also life in the ocean- and that life makes and consumes CO2.
Now, global CO2 levels have risen on average less than 2 ppm per year. You said:
"Then do the math to compare pounds burned to pounds added to the atmosphere."
So, 1 ppm of CO2 equals how many tonnes of CO2?
Wiki:
"Carbon dioxide in earth's atmosphere is considered a trace gas currently occurring at an average concentration of about 385 parts per million by volume or 582 parts per million by mass. The mass of the Earth atmosphere is 5.14×1018 kg [17], so the total mass of atmospheric carbon dioxide is 3.0×1015 kg (3,000 gigatonnes)."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon_dioxide
So 5.15 gigatonnes per 1 ppm of CO2.
So in the 1960-70 how much CO2 was humans emitting into the atmosphere on average per year?
And during 1970-80 and 1980-90, etc ?
And how much CO2 are we presently putting into the atmosphere- I've seen stuff like 26 gigatonnes, but is there some official number that you like?
Say it was 26 gigatonnes would I mean we should have something like 5 ppm being added per year?
How many gigatonnes of CO2 do human have to add to increase global CO2 by 1 ppm.
As I said we had increase of less than 2 ppm per year, and
we have not have the average increase by as 1 ppm per year since we began measuring Global CO2 since 1958.
So, if human did at some point emit 10 gigatonnes per year and now emit 20 gigatonnes what does that equal in terms of increase in global CO2. And if we did 40 gigatonnes what does that translate in terms yearly increase of CO2. And say we wanted to reduce the CO2 increase so it's 1.5 ppm per year, how much human emission would need to reach
