You seem to be implying that global warming skeptics are responsible for the current financial melt-down. I don't think there is any evidence of that, but, as always, I'm eager to learn if you know something I don't.

Additionally, not all environmentalists subscribe to the theory of AGW. As I've mentioned elsewhere, CO2 is a beneficial trace gas essential for photosynthesis. Plants do better with even higher levels of CO2 than we now have. In fact, current levels of CO2 are closer to the minimum required for photosynthesis than to the maximum. In photosynthesis, plants cleave away the carbon and release O2. More plants = better Earth.

Furthermore, all things considered, I think it can be argued quite persuasively that a warmer Earth is much better than a cooler Earth. Misleading photos of "stranded" Polar Bears notwithstanding, their numbers have actually increased substantially in recent years. These white carnivores are excellent swimmers and often traverse several miles of open ocean.

Photos don't necessarily lie, but often they don't tell the full story without accompanying, accurate, amplifying text.
