Weird Reasons, Specious Arguments, Junk Science
And scientists can get it wrong even when they have seemingly sound arguments. An argument that sounds good but is in fact invalid is known as a specious argument. There are a number of these loose in the world today, much to our detriment.
Many people are fooled by specious arguments, but not all. I would include you in this latter category. Thanks for your comments.
