Who exactly are you trying to fool?

No one denies that CO2, within a range of levels, is good and required for plants... that has never been the issue. You only try to frame it that way to cloud the issue- one of the many things that makes me suspect that you are being INTENTIONALLY dishonest.

CO2 is a greenhouse gas, it does trap more heat in the earth's atmosphere- the physics of this is well understood and this is not an issue of any serious debate- it is simply a fact.

CO2 Levels are rising- again, this is an empirical fact.

Human burning of fossil fuels coupled with human destruction of the natural sinks of CO2 is responsible for this rise. This is again a fact- I will dig up my past posts on this outlining the overwheming data that shows this.

With the increasing CO2 we are seeing, (surprise surprise) rising temperatures.

Human produced CO2 IS causing global warming, hence the term "Anthropogenic Global Warming".

With the July 2007 release of the revised statement by the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, no remaining scientific body of national or international standing is known to reject the basic findings of human influence on recent climate.

The issue is not "Will global warming destroy the Earth?"- it wont... it wont kill off the human race either. The issue is how will humans deal with climate change- rising sea levels are resulting and that rise will accelerate.

The charlatans that preach that "AGW isnt real, and even if it is real it isnt a problem, extreme climate changes have happened in the past".

This is an intentionally dishonest argument- it does not matter what happened a million years ago- Humanity is at a population of ~5 billion, our civilization is built for the climate we have had recently.

If we were a nomadic tribe, a global temperature rise of a couple degrees wouldnt matter- but we DEPEND on a stable climate, on stable sea levels. A global climate change will cause great chaos and cost. Global changes in precipitation will lead to famine, and conflict.

That is the issue.
