The fatal flaw in any plan to end this conflict is to believe Israel wants it to end or honors any ceasefire. When the Palestinians aren't firing rockets or sending suicide bombers the Israelis keep killing them anyway. Historically the ratio has been 25 Palestinians killed for every 1 Israeli.
Moshe Dayan said they'd be treated like dogs until they left. Palestinians were treated as 3rd class citizens in their own lands after 1948, and entire villages slaughtered.
Israel regards Palestine as it's territory and wants it all. Menachem Begin said that borders are fluid, that the state given to them was simply a starter.
The peace plans proposed by Clinton which are highly touted left the area's water supplies totally in Israels hands. It left the transportation system and power generation in the control of the Israelis. There was no way Arafat could have accepted that plan, but the US PR system was going all out. Clinton wanted a Nobel Peace Prize.
That Israel is threatened by it's Arab neighbors is nonsense. America will protect her, she has nukes, and she's secure. The Palestinians have no army, navy, air force, nothing bigger than some miserably ineffective rockets and small bombs. They are no threat.
It is a one-sided slaughter, with the propaganda reaching Americans having been censored of all information explaining the Palestinian side of the matter as anti-Semetic. And it's a one-sided slaughter of Muslims funded by the US. Muslim nations know that, and don't pretend the US isn't engaged in a religious war throughout the region.
Israel does not want "peace". Israel wants the land, preferably cleansed of Palestinians. Read the histories.
