And just how do you propose

to eliminate all of Hamas Tom? Do you think that's some kind of attainable goal? From what I can tell they seem to be awfully interspersed with lots of innocent people. Do you just carpet bomb the areas they're in and let God sort it out?

You'll find nobody of any political persuasion that doesn't agree that criminals and terrorists should be brought to justice and suffer repercussions for their aberrant behavior but it sounds like police-type work to me not the stuff of military solutions.

What your black and white mind forgets is that Hamas is just the terrorist-de-jeur group. Even if they somehow walked around with labels on their heads and you could kill or imprison them all, the societal pressures that created them are still going to be there. You merely build a vacuum where the next group emerges.

Look, I'll be brutally honest with you. I'm probably as uncomfortable with Islamic culture as you are and the terrible violence that's committed in it's name. It's a horrible threat to the world but where we differ is that I view the growth of Islamic fundamentalism and the severity of its violent acts as something we helped to create and propagate. Now before you put words in my mouth (I can sense you drooling over that last statement) I didn't say we were to blame for all of it but our actions in trying to force our will (and often for the best of intentions) helps to foster the environment where charismatic Islamic leaders can mold economically depressed people to go to war against Western culture. You want to prevent the next 9/11 attack? Stop painting targets on our country.

We don't need to play Big Brother to Israel. They're more than capable of taking care of themselves. As I stated and you conveniently ignored, I really don't care what actions Israel takes against Palestine or Hamas. I understand their fear and bluster. What I care about is that we play this big enabling role sitting off on the sidelines daring anyone to strike back. We also need to stop going it alone against terror groups and rogue regimes that keep popping up in Mideast hot spots. They are nothing more than international criminals and it's the responsibility of international coalitions to chase them down and prosecute them.

You're all over the board with your willingness to engage ourselves into everyone's squabbles and yet there's never any plan as to how it all ends. I really get the sense that for you and the rest of the hard core conservatives this is some final holy war before you're all swooped up in the rapture, a war you must fight to be viewed as worthy of your last great teleporter trip.

By the way, since you're so committed to kill off all of Hamas, have you encouraged your daughters to sign up for the military to go off and do that or are you still just happy to use other people's children?
