When Mark Twain visited what is now Israel
he found huge areas of the land barren.
"No human being for miles and miles. "
That according to Mark Twain.
There were no Arabs, no Druse, no Bedouins, no Jews
living in most of what was then [mid 19th century]
a vast wasteland between a few towns.
Jerusalem was one of the few exceptions
back then; and the Turkish sponsered census
showed Jerusalem to be populated mostly
by HASIDIC JEWS in those Victorian times.
Yes! Since that century, there has been an
huge influx of both Palestinians and Jews.
Many of the Jews escaping persecutions in Europe
and in Muslim countries [Yemen being the most notorious example]
So who does Israel belong to?
Of course it belongs to the Jews,
no matter what that Egyptian-born man,
the late Mr. Arafat might have said.
This next statement will shock patriotic Americans.
The Jews have more right to live in Israel
than English colonists [and their descendants]
had/have a right to live in the land now called America.
And finally....Sorry, Bowser. The Jews in Israel have
a right to DEFEND THEMSELVES.,,and the right
to strike back at those who attempt to kill them.
Current Events » in reply to Israel learned well from the Nazis.
