The attacks on New York and Washington were by a country? Which one would that be Tom, Saudi Arabia? The majority of the attackers were from there. And just which nuclear weapon did they use. I seem to have forgotten that part of the attack.
Let's address you logic about Iran giving their bomb (which they'll spend probably billions of dollars constructing) to some terrorist group to deliver. In all the years the Earth has had huge stores of nuclear weapons not one of those countries has given away one of those things to one of their allies that we know of. From all we know they keep them locked up as tight as a drum. I'm including in this scenario the Soviet Union who were sworn mortal enemies of our country and had plans in place to completely destroy us. You'd have thought they'd have had considerable motivation to let one of their weapons slip to some 3rd party to deliver it to one of our cities.
Oh wait, those guys are white and non-Muslim. They're rational not like those damned ragheads who all want to blow everyone else to smithereens.
I'm sorry Tom but this whole paranoid thing about Iran as some sort of threat to us and our allies is not about military might. It's about racism and culturalism pure and simple. Iran didn't attack our cities. There's a good amount of Iranian citizens living and working in this country right now and I've interacted with a number of them. To a tee each of them seemed a whole lot less scary than half of the Americans on the floor of the Republican convention.
There's bad people in Iran. I'll give you that but there's bad folks all around the world. The good news is that the truly despicable pretty much make up about the same percentage in every culture including ours. Faced with the same economic depression you'd be seeing Americans desperate and unreasonable just as you see the stereotypes in the Mideast.
Just maybe, instead of using force and bullying to minimize the threat of these idiots, it would be in our best interest to empower the greater percentage of reasonable people in all these lands. Being an Islamaphobe isn't going to fix this problem. Finding the common things we share is.
