While you do make a good point

I think Iraq qualified for far more than 'looking at us funny'.
Whatever the number should be that triggers us to move, I hope it is less than 3,000 dead.
I was hoping to find a threshold which would be OK to hit back from.
As to the seperate issue you raise: would we be willing to kill X people who are not Americans in the name of our perception of security, I find that interesting. How do we test that perception of security?
Is it like the Lawrence Olivier character in "Marathon Man" practicing dentistry on Dustin Hoffman and asking, "Is it safe?"
Certainly there must be a test that would be reasonable, which means to me that the answer is tragically dynamic.
Do you think it is 0?
As someone who has lived and visited around a few places on the earth, I have never had problems realizing we all are, as Lenny Bruce would say, 'the same schmuck'.
And on my second Thanksgiving trip to London, I will be pleased upon my return to confirm the humanity, or lack thereof, of British humanity.
:^)
