1) You have not proved that there can be no good data... In fact 9/11 was preceeded by a torrent of good data- that just fell on deaf and incompetent ears, or at least ears that could not put 2 and 2 together due to (what they claim, and I don't buy:) regulatory problems.

You have a thesis here, not a fact. You have a long way to go to a fact.

That we DIDN'T have adequate info on 9/11 is not an excuse to lower the bar on 'preemption'. As Robert has pointed out- thats the easy way out.

Sorry, Tom- one of the slogans I hear a lot from the right is that 'freedom has its cost'. If that is true (and it is), then so does morality and being the good-guy. So does not taking the cowards way out.

You can not display how your thesis does not turn into a "war-because-I-say-so" of the politicians/politics du-jour. you HAVE to recognize the inevitable danger in this. We all know that you think Bush is a moral honest politician- but we all know that you find plenty who are not. When one of those is sitting in the white house and uses this 'bush doctrine' to send next years crop of kids off to kill and be killed... Well, can't you see the POSIIBILITY of a screw up with this doctrine? At all? C'mon!

Look, again- being the good guy is not the easiest way out.
