re: Your criticisms of this position slice both ways

" It's worth noting that when defectors told stories similar to this, you didn't believe them. Would you believe them from CIA agents?
"

Notice I said: bring back documents (or some other form of hard evidence). Neither the defectors nor the CIA did this with Iraq. And neither the CIA nor defectors came back with vidence of a plan in the making to use BiAgent on the US.

"That our intelligence (and Britain's) was "hotly contested" across the planet before the fact is a fantasy rewrite of history."

Absolutely not true. I was contesting the terrorism ties, as were many folks, intelligence services and news agencies around the world. So was the UN inspection agencies (must really chap your hide that they turned out to be more right than Bush, eh?) Go back to your pre-war bookmarks and folllow the links I was posting on a daily basis. Then lets revisit your claim about re-writing history.

Also, the Niger Yellowcake, for bexample, wsas contested from day one... Hell, even before Bush dropped it into the SOU!

"But when a handful of men can kill thousands of people, or even more, the rules of warfare that served when war was fought in ranks and lines aren't going to work any more. "

Rules of warfare might be subject to change, rules of morality are not (unless you want to adopt the relativist stance). Unjustified killing is still murder last time I checked... And if you want to drop the pesky justification clause on warfare then you better get ready for you and your family to live in an immoral and unethical state- what some might call a terror state.
