re: Atlanta's burning, Miz Scarlett

We pay more for health care than anyone else in the world does, and too many of us still have none at all. And this situation has developed only in the last couple of decades or so. That's too big a price to pay for heart transplants and CAT scans on demand for the few who have the insurance to support it. This is the only statistic that matters.

Do you really think people are just making this up so they can plunder your bank account? Talk to people out there, hard working people, who are making their own way just fine otherwise, who can't take their kids to the doctor until there is a crisis. And if I lose my job this October, like I may very well do so, I will be one of those people. I've been making the phone calls and the net searches and I cannot afford to ensure myself or my wife, I'm essentially on my own for the next five years when I qualify for Medicare. This is a national problem and a national disgrace, not a plot to take your money.
