What I've finally realized is that, with the exception of the Space Board, people aren't coming here to get information or learn, they're coming here for validation of their own views.
I should have known from experience elsewhere that facts would not go over well in such an environment, and would generate actual hostility at worst, and oblivious dismissal at best. My facts just aren't "interesting."
Your post above, for example, displays that nothing I've said on this subject in a dozen posts has ever actually been processed in your mind.
Unfortunately, I agree that the "mainstream opinion"--which in human history has resulted in more pain than anything else--will prevail, and the faith that you can get something for nothing will override all the poor slobs who keep putting up the numbers. When the economic collapse comes, I can guarantee it will all be blamed on capitalism.
Some things are, in fact, impossible. I pointed out that the examples you gave on that were crap, but that, too, was never processed, and you just repeated it.
You are more learned, perhaps, but when it comes down to it, your thinking processes aren't that much different from Lindy's.
