re: Atlanta's burning, Miz Scarlett

We pay more for health care than anyone else in the world does, and too many of us still have none at all. And this situation has developed only in the last couple of decades or so. That's too big a price to pay for heart transplants and CAT scans on demand for the few who have the insurance to support it. This is the only statistic that matters.

We create more of the health care technology with that money than anyone else in the world. At this point, only 16 percent of Americans are uninsured, which, as defined in the Census Report, is anyone who didn't happen to have insurance during the previous year. There are no statistics I'm aware of on the reasons for them being uninsured.

If you think it's worth destroying our current system on this basis, go for it. Turn over our health care to the microcephalic idiots currently warming seats in Congress and the Senate. If you think health care for profit is bad, wait until you get health care running on political interests.

Art won't look at the legislation that started all this. Maybe you will. The bill was a special interest nightmare. Imagine health care driven by the need for politicians and bureaucrats to keep their jobs, and completely immune to financial inputs.

As for costs, are you aware that Medicare, the shining example often mentioned in this context, is going broke big time, and doing so in such a way that it is the largest hole in our budget for the next fifty years?

Do you really think people are just making this up so they can plunder your bank account?

Good Lord, like it would be the first time a "crisis" has been pulled out of someone's ass to justify another ratchet upward in the concentration of wealth and power in the government. Somehow liberals only see this happening on things like defense issues, and not when it involves social programs.
